This year my friends and I volunteered at the Writing Rally at Whitworth. It is a experience put on by the university to celebrate writing for children. Elementary students can sign up to see an author present--David Shannon this year--and then go to a class to write a book. It truly is exciting for the kids. Kristine, Whitney, and I worked the registration table. I had the opportunity to run into my first practicum teacher, Jollie, and I also had a book signed by David Shannon--look at the little face he drew on my lima bean!
