My Dad turns 70!

My Dad's birthday is just a few days away, but we celebrated his birthday today as a surprise. It's hard to believe he turns 70 this next week! This picture was taken of him in 1966, when he was just 24 years old. He said he was is Okinawa (when he was in the Army). They were working with Special Forces and he was stationed out in the woods waiting for some other soldiers to come through--he said he was cooking over a fire and directing troops. One of the other guys with him snapped this picture. I like the picture because it always reminds me of how I see my Dad--as a cowboy since he grew up on a cattle ranch. I love my Daddy--he's my hero!
