April 10th-13th, 2011

Spring Break and Loudon's birthday all went by too fast. We find ourselves back in the swing of work, school, and home life quicker than I'd like. I'm really looking forward to hanging out with the kids this summer. We have our moments, but most of them are good. I love watching Loudon grow into a big independent boy (as long as he's still willing to give his mommy plenty of hugs), watching Parker be crazy and adventurous as ever (boy, are we in for it), and watching little Amelia develop a silly personality (she has everyone wrapped around her tiny finger).

And, for those of you who don't know, I've been teaching 4th grade this year on a one-year contract. I know my principal would love to keep me at the school I'm at, but the budget is looking ATROCIOUS this year. There is a decent possibility that I won't be employed this next school year due to all these monetary issues. Our plan at this point is to carry on and see what happens. If I can't get hired back on for next year due to layoffs and teaching position shortages, I will just stay home and substitute part-time--I can always hope for the next year. If I get hired, cool deal. As Chris says--and I keep repeating in my head as a mantra--we'll figure it out; we always do. Besides, we have the cutest kids in the whole world--if I get to stay home with them, what a treat!
